Guide to Starting a Business-An overview of what it takes to start a business in Kansas. At these sessions you will learn about naming your company, determining the legal structure for your business, the mechanics of writing a business plan, preparing a cash flow projection and other issues important to a new business. In Colby, the sessions will be held at the Chamber of Commerce at 350 S. Range on Fridays from 8:30-11:30 a.m. CT on May 9th, June 6th and July 11th. FREE! EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED! Disaster Planning for Business Workshop. Held in Hays, on Thursday, May 22, 2008, at the Ellis County Fairgrounds-Gold Building-1343 Fairground Road, Hays, KS. This FREE workshop will help businesses prepare for and react to disasters ranging from floods, tornadoes, power outages, backed up sewers, malfunctioning sprinklers, etc. Sponsored by KansasWorks, Kansas Small Business Development Center, SBA, Nex-Tech and Ellis County Emergency Management.
